Covid19 International health insurance

These are certainly scary times particularly for international travelers and expats. Many expats who are currently outside their home countries are unsure of their health care and available international health insurance options. It is also heartrending to know of so many stranded expatriates and travelers in countries they did not intend to be in at all. We cannot predict how long international health insurance options will remain, so it is important to buy available international medical insurance options soon.

We have seen providers either reduce or even discontinue coverage for COVID-19 and certain other benefits due to the global pandemic. If you are an expatriate and do not have international health insurance or if it will run out soon, do consider buying an alternative global medical insurance plan right away while options are still available. At American Visitor Insurance we are committed to getting you the most appropriate policy you need even under these difficult circumstances.

Long Term coverage with the global plans of IMG

Hello,

I am looking for a plan that provides long term coverage for a year. I would like the plan to provide good coverage for pre existing conditions and preventive care. Can you give me more insight about the Global plans of IMG? I am kind of interested in their benefits

Feza

Dear Feza,

If you are looking for complete long term medical coverage, the global plans are ideal especially if you need them for longer than one year. They have limited coverage for reventative (wellness) treatment and the Silver and Gold plans cover pre-existing conditions after 24 months continuous coverage, but the Platinum plan covers pre-existing medical conditions if disclosed and not excluded by rider in the first year.

The Global Medical Policies offered by IMG are excellent and popular choices for long term international insurance. The policy will cover you while you are traveling outside your home country of citizenship as well as in your home country. The advantage of a global health policy is that once you are accepted onto the plan, you are guaranteed coverage year after year and the only price increase will be due to age (they cannot increase your rate due to a new health issue).

The Global Medical Bronze and Silver plans are fixed plans which may work well in countries where medical costs are low. The Global Medical Gold and Platinum are comprehensive policies. An optional dental and vision riders are available for the Bronze, Silver, and Gold plans. The Global Medical Platinum offers complete medical coverage even for maternity costs. Dental and vision coverage is included in the Global Medical Platinum plan.

Also, be aware that the online application will ask extensive medical questions (be prepared with dates and all the information) and that it may take a couple days for the company to review the application. Furthermore, the coverage is NOT guaranteed, so your application may be rejected, accepted with exclusions (which you would have to agree to), or, ideally, simply accepted.
