questionHi,
Bought your policy for International Travel (our home country is USA) My wife would appear for a Schengen Visa Appointment early next week.
Can you provide me a visa letter showing coverage proof for her? let me know if you want her passport details etc.
Thanks,
Shivkumar

questionDear Shivkumar,
You need to use the links on your confirmation email to go to the CLIENT ZONE and create a log in. The first time you log in you will use the certificate number and the primary insured's date of birth. Then a menu will give you an option to print a VISA LETTER.

If you want our help with this, we need:
Primary insured's name and date of birth Certificate number password to the client zone if you have created one. Also, if you did not include your wife's passport number on the application and you want it printed on the letter, you must provide us that information as well (the passport number).

questionHi,
I am a US citizen and my age 65 years. I need insurance to travel to Europe.
How much would the insurance cost from today till October 2nd? Is colon scoot included?
Thanks,
Mary

questionDear Mary,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for yourEurope Travel Insurance needs!
We have several policies that satisfy the needs of travelers to Europe.
Customers usually buy these products to satisfy Schengen visa requirements, however as a US citizen this is not a factor for your short term travel to Europe. These Schengen visa requirements ensure that the coverage is adequate for travel to Europe and that the insurer has the wherewithal of insuring a traveler in Europe.
You can get a list of available plans ideal for travel to Europe by using our Schengen visa quote comparison tool. You can enter the age(s) of the person who needs the insurance to get a list of options available.

questionHi,
I am traveling for a year. Will be going out of Schengen Area after 90 days, so won't need extended stay visa. Do I need Schengen area medical insurance?
Thanks,
Lanita

questionDear Lanita,
As a US citizen, since you do not need a visa for a stay of less than 90 days, you do not need insurance purely for the Schengen visa purpose. However it is prudent to buy health insurance unless your domestic US health plan provides adequate coverage while outside the US. If however you are staying in Europe for more than 90- days, you will need the Europe long stay visa and therefore the Schengen visa insurance for that.

Thanks,

questionDear Linda,
You could use our compare tool:

flag-color  Schengen Visa Insurance

While filling the form for one year. All US products in this category for travel to Europe are available for a maximum of 365 days as decided by the regulatory authorities, and hence the quote is incorrect when you choose 366 days. You should choose the dates as from 22nd September 2017 to 21st September 2018 (this makes it 365 days including the 22nd September 2017 and 21st of September 2018).
You will be able to download the policy document that you need to submit for the French visa once you complete purchasing the policy.

questionHi,
We are looking for an insurance plan that satisfies the Schengen Visa requirements for my client. I need an insurance that is available for one year. This plan should be available for $0 deductible. The client needs to attend the visa interview in Germany. She is going to stay for long time in Denmark but she needs coverage in all the Schengen countries. She will be touring in Europe. What is the destination that she needs to enter in the application? Does the plan cover all the other countries in Europe apart from the destination provided?
Thanks,
Ross

questionDear Ross,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Schengen Visa Insurance needs!
Atlas International is available for a maximum of 364 days. This plan satisfies the Schengen Visa Requirements and is available for $0 deductible. The Visa Letter that is generated automatically for each policy and available to download in the Client Zone specifically states that the policy meets Schengen visa requirements and also gives the member the option to add multiple destination when printing it out. That document is accepted for the visa.

questionHi,
On medical health insurance page requirement for Schengen visa, it says the amount must be spelled out or it must say unlimited, the sum has to be split equally between the different benefits(eg, $25,000 for medical treatment, $25,000 of medical evacuation and repatriation. Does atlas international specify all these?
Thanks,
Guanshan Xian

questionDear Guanshan,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Schengen Visa Insurance needs!
Atlas International is a plan that is suitable for Schengen Visa Insurance. About the wording that is specified in the document, this plan might not say that each benefit is equally spelled out to be $25,000 but that is the minimum amount that has been specified. Atlas International exceeds this amount. Therefore there is no harm in buying the plan as long as the minimum requirement is met and satisfied. It might not be the same amount for each benefit but it s more than what they have requested for each benefit. This qualifies the plan for the Schengen Visa Insurance.
Please let us know if we can help you in any further.

questionDear Kate,
Thank you for contacting us for your insurance needs. The policy below meets requirements for Schengen visa , as long as you purchase at least a $50,000 maximum policy and choose a $0 deductible. There is no co-insurance involved for this plan outside the US. Also, this company will give you a visa letter in English and Spanish (I hear the Spanish consulates can be quite picky). questionHi,
I am a 52 yr old American citizen and a Dutch resident. I currently live in Netherlands. I am traveling to Spain and currently looking for health insurance that satisfies the Spanish Government requirements. I need coverage for my pre existing condition which is Gastro pertussis. I am interested in the GeoBlue Voyager plan. Would you be able to find out if that plan can cover me?
Thanks,
Eve

questionDear Eve,
Thank you for contacting us at visitor medical insurance for your travel health insurance needs! I contacted the Geoblue regarding your questions and as per that conversation, since you are not currently residing in US, you are not eligible to purchase that plan.
I have an alternate option for you from the insurance company WorldTrips. This plan is Atlas International. The pre existing condition will not be covered under this plan as they do not cover anything chronic and that is currently being treated with medications.

questionHi,
I have purchased the Atlas International policy online as per your suggestion for the Schengen Visa Insurance. Can you please send me a copy of my policy by an email? It is urgent. Also I have 2 questions:
  • What does this mean?
"This insurance coverage, offered by WorldTrips, does not meet the minimum standards required by the health care reform law. The policy contains the plan benefits, including a lifetime maximum, that you have selected. Please review your choices to ensure that you have sufficient coverage to meet your medical needs."
  • What is this deductible $250 mean?
Thanks much,
Deepita

questionDear Deepita,
You should have received a confirmation email from WorldTrips after your purchase is complete. Check your spam if the email is not in your inbox. There is a hyperlink in that email using which you can download all relevant documents including a visa letter for the consulate.
Regarding your questions:
  • "This insurance coverage, offered by WorldTrips, does not meet the minimum standards required by the health care reform law. The policy contains the plan benefits, including a lifetime maximum, that you have selected. Please review your choices to ensure that you have sufficient coverage to meet your medical needs."
The above paragraph means that not all of the requirements required by health reform law are applicable to this insurance policy. For example the Law says to cover pre existing conditions, but the plan does not cover it. It might cover only the acute onset until certain age.
  • The deductible amount of $250 is the amount that you the customer has to pay in case you incur an expense after which the insurance company will take over and cover the remaining eligible expense.
Hope this helps!

questionHi,
I am trying to buy the Atlas Travel Insurance policy for my trip to Europe. However, I get to a notice which says something like "if you are physically in the state of NY, you cannot purchase the policy online". What does that mean? Can I buy the policy?

questionSince you have put in a NY address on your application, you are being asked this question. The regulation of insurance is left up to each state of the United States, so each one has different laws and regulations. While this is not necessarily an issue for you as a consumer, it makes things extraordinarily tedious for insurance companies who want to sell insurance in every state and have their customers covered in every state. This is why you will not be able to buy this policy if you are physically in the state of New York, so you have two options. Option 1: Physically go to a different state (or ask a friend or relative in a different state) to buy the policy OR, Option 2: choose a different policy which still meets the requirements for your trip.
